Join us for Monthly ARDS Support Meetings

Chicago Area Support Meetings

The ARDS Foundation hosts a meeting on the first Monday of each month for support and information. Anyone affected by ARDS, their family and friends, are welcome to attend. The meetings will begin at approximately 7:00 PM at our offices at 3100 Dundee, Suite 402, Northbrook, Illinois.

We will be serving coffee, soda, and dessert. Please join us to meet others who have been affected by ARDS, learn more about our organization, or talk about your experiences with ARDS. From time to time we will be discussing future events and have individuals from the medical field join us at our meeting. Southeast Louisiana Support Meetings

  The Southeast Louisiana ARDS Support Group meeting will be held at North Oaks Hospital in Hammond, LA. at 15790 Paul Vega MD Drive, on the 4th Monday of each month. If you would like more information about this meeting, please contact Beth Scamardo at 985-320-5329 or email her at

After losing Janice, their mother, sister, daughter, to ARDS on April 27, 2005, they wanted to do something to make a difference. (inset link to Janice's ARDS story here) Among their objectives are to join together with other families who have had their heart broken after losing a loved one, or with survivors and their families who endured this insidious syndrome, to make a difference. By joining forces, the hope is to share their experiences and information; to talk and laugh and cry. They want to educate others by using their own personal stories about acute respiratory distress syndrome and how it changed their lives. By so doing, they hope to achieve their goal of raising public awareness, and one day, be instrumental in reducing the mortality rate of ARDS. Read Janice's ARDS Story here:
